In 1983, the CRP/ launched a major campaign to buy works for the creation of a lending gallery marking the birth of its art library, the first of its kind in France in the field of photography.
The activity of the CRP’s art library, in association with its collection, is an important tool in its mission of image education, awareness-raising and transmission. The possibility of borrowing is in fact a kind of mediation, because it makes works more accessible outside of dedicated sites, and enables the borrower to experience the work in a different timeframe, something that favours its appropriation and the development of a critical eye.

Today, the CRP’s art library makes over 450 works available to borrow. It is representative of contemporary photography in all of its diverse currents and aesthetics.
It is open to individuals, schoolchildren and companies, helping give art a presence in everyone’s day-to-day environment (homes, offices, schools, etc.).

If you are interested in borrowing a work, do not hesitate to ask us for the lending conditions leaflet, which stipulates the art library rules. Every lease requires acceptance of the conditions set forth in these rules. Every photograph loan will be subject to an agreement between the CRP/ and the borrower.
